Blest Are We

Using PDF Files
The Web site for Blest Are We uses PDF files for some documents. PDF stands for "Portable Document Format" and is a type of file that can be viewed and printed clearly on almost any type of computer, as long as the computer has the program Adobe Reader installed. Adobe Reader is available for free at Adobe’s Web site, www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readermain.html.

If you need more help, Adobe’s Web site also has a support section for help using Adobe Reader and PDFs at www.adobe.com/

.
Depending on your particular computer and internet browser configuration, it may be difficult to know if a PDF file was successfully downloaded. If the PDF file does not automatically pop-up in a window, try the following:

1) Check to see if the PDF file opened in a window in the background, hidden behind other windows.

2) Check your "Download Manager" window (if using Internet Explorer), to see if the PDF file is listed as a completed downloaded file.

3) Do a search on your hard drive for the name of the file you downloaded. The file name will end in the extension ".pdf". If you are looking for an activity, the file name will begin with "activity". If you are looking for an answer sheet for an activity, the file name will begin with "answer". Make a note about where this file is located on your computer; most likely all your downloads will be saved there.

4) Attempt to download the file again. Windows users, try right-clicking on the PDF link and selecting "save target as…" or "save link as…". Pick a folder on your computer and save the file in it. Macintosh users, try holding the CONTROL key and the mouse button down simultaneously over the PDF link, and selecting either "download link to disk" or "save this link as…". If given an option for "format", select "source". Pick a folder on your computer and save the file in it.
