GATHERING PRAYER
Leader		We gather to give thanks and praise to God for the gift of the saints. It is through them that we come to recognize God’s goodness. It is by modeling them that we can become saints.
All		Amen.
READING
Reader		A reading from the first letter of John. (Read 1 John 3:1-3,18.) The word of the Lord.
All		Thanks be to God.
RESPONSE
Group 1		Search me O Lord, and try me;     test me in both heart and mind. Your kind love is before my eyes,     I walk in truth to you.
All		O God, you alone are the ruler of my life.
Group 2		I do not sit among the worthless     nor keep company with hypocrites; I will not be a part of evildoing,     nor rest with the wicked.
All		O God, you alone are the ruler of my life.
Group 1		Rather, I wash my hands in innocence and go to your altar, O Lord. There I sing songs of thanksgiving and share news of your wondrous deeds.

Group 2		I will walk with integrity;     save me, be gracious to me. My foot remains on level ground;     in the assemblies I will bless the Lord. (based on Psalm 26:2-12)

CLOSING PRAYER
Leader		Gracious God, we have spent time quietly reflecting on our relationship with you. We thank you for the saints who help guide us in ways to live. We ask that we grow in faith and love as we grow in age.
All		Amen.
