GATHERING PRAYER
Leader		Mary accepted God’s invitation to be the Mother of Jesus. She praised God throughout her life. Let us pray. O Mary, you showed us your faithfulness and goodness by saying 'yes’ to God. O Mother of Jesus, may we be as eager to do God’s will as you were.
All		Amen.

Leader		A reading from the Gospel of Luke (Read Luke 1:46–49) The Gospel of the Lord.
All		Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
RESPONSE
Leader		We honor Mary as the Mother of God. We pause to reflect on her life and that of her Son through the Glorious Mysteries of the Rosary.
THE GLORIOUS MYSTERIES
Reader 1		The first Glorious Mystery. Jesus is risen! Jesus overcame death. Can you image the joy in Mary’s heart?

All		Holy Mary...
Reader 1		The Second Glorious Mystery. Jesus ascends to heaven. The time came for Jesus to return to his Father in heaven. Mary must have missed Jesus, but was happy to know that her Son would be with God the Father.

Reader 1		The Third Glorious Mystery. The Holy Spirit comes. Jesus promised his followers that he would send his Spirit to fill them with courage.

Reader 1		The Fourth Glorious Mystery. Jesus calls his mother to heaven. What a joyous day! Mary is reunited with Jesus and shares in the peace of God’s love.

Reader 1		The Fifth Glorious Mystery. Mary becomes the Queen of Heaven. Crowned with glory, Mary is now the Mother of us all. She watches over each of us.

Leader		Let us pray. Lord, we join our words of praise and thanks to those of Mary. We celebrate that she is in heaven and look forward to joining her. Keep us faithful to your call to love you and one another. We pray in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
