Leader		Lord, we place ourselves in your presence as we honor Mary. Help us always to stay close to you as Mary did.

Reader		A reading from the Gospel of John. (Read John 19:25-30.) The Gospel of the Lord.
All		Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
PETITIONS
Leader		Mary was with Jesus when he suffered. She is with all of us when we are unhappy. Jesus shares his mother with us.
Reader		For the times we are afraid,
All		Mary, pray for us.
Reader		For the times when we find it hard to say yes to God,
All		Mary, pray for us.
Reader		For the times it is hard to be nice to others,
All		Mary, pray for us.
BOUQUET OF PRAYERS
Leader		May we always pray to Mary. Let us remember the people who need our help by praying for them.
(Distribute copies of the rose page with crayons or markers. Invite the children to color the flower and write next to it the person for whom they will pray. As they finish, have them tape their flower to the green fabric.) CLOSING PRAYER
Leader		Lord, we thank you for giving us Mary. Give us the same courage to follow you as Mary did.
