We know Christ is with us during times of personal suffering to help us change negative attitudes into positive ones. Yet, it can still be difficult to comprehend the concept of human suffering.
At the beginning of unit study, have each student write down a question he/she has about human suffering an experience from their own lives or of someone they know.
Have them add possible answers to their concerns.
Collect the signed questions and store them until the last lesson of Unit 4.
During the last lesson return questions to students. Discuss how they might now answer them differently.
Provide an opportunity for sharing and for discussing questions that seem unanswerable.
