At the end of Chapter 6, direct students to Matthew 14:51-52. Here, Jesus speaks of the old and the new. He is referring to the laws and prophet (old) and his teachings (new). Help students list examples of old teachings (such as commandments, covenant) that remain important today and new teachings introduced by Jesus (such as, beatitudes, sacraments). Discuss why they are important as we prepare ourselves for God’s kingdom.
