Use Blest Are We's Liturgical Calendar (www.blestarewe.com/litcal/) or a church calendar to familiarize students with events within the liturgical year.

Identify the liturgical season and cycle A,B, or C for the Sundays of the current month.

For students celebrating birthdays during the month find out which saints’ feast days are celebrated then.

Look ahead to determine when the liturgical season will change. For example, if it is currently Ordinary Time, on what date will Advent begin? Which liturgical cycle will that be?

If you have begun a bulletin board calendar display, what events from history might students want to include on the calendar?

Perhaps students could learn more about the saints and/or historical events they have selected for this activity.
