As Christ served as a ‘light to the world,’ each Christian is also called to be a light bearer. Emphasize that there are many ways of bringing the light of hope, caring, and happiness to others. Direct children to work in pairs to find specific ways of being a light to the world. Offer examples, such as: "When I tell the truth and don’t lie, I am a light to the world." "When I stand up for someone being treated unfairly, I am..." Have each pair create two "When I....I am a light to the world" statements. Invite volunteers to share their responses with the class.
