Refer to page 117 in the children's books. Read the quote from Genesis 1:31. Hold up the Bible you display in the prayer corner. Point out that this book should always be treated with respect because it is God's word. Turn to Genesis 1:31 in the Bible. Allow each child to come and see that these words in their books do, in fact, come from the Bible. Tell children that there are many books in the Bible and that Genesis is the very first one.
Next, have children turn to page 129 in their books. Read the quote from Matthew in their books. Then read it from the Bible. Help children to understand that each chapter in their books begins with the word of God. This is because God's word is very important in helping them to know God better. If time permits, you may choose to share additional Bible excerpts with children.
