This unit focuses on caring for others. Hunger is a constant problem for many. We often collect food items during holiday seasons, but people are hungry daily. Encourage students to plan a special date on which to bring in canned foods for the hungry within your community. Perhaps a parent would be willing to deliver the collection to a local food bank. Talk about the exercise as "sharing" and not "giving." |
