Through the strength of the Spirit, the apostles gained the courage and ability to reach out to many following that Pentecost day. They were probably as surprised as those who heard them of this great new gift.

Sometimes it seems as if young people speak in languages different from our own. They have their own terms and phrases with special meaning. It takes a special courage to attempt to speak with them, especially in ways to develop their faith understanding and growth.

As Youth Minister you must have faith that the Spirit will help you speak in ways the young people in your care will understand and accept. Always pray to the Spirit for guidance before meeting with them. Then, you and the Spirit will reach them and lead them forward in faith.
