"He is not here, he is risen."
–Luke 24:6

Jesus, through his death and resurrection, has conquered sin and death. As Christians, all we say and do comes from our belief in the resurrection. Because of this belief, Easter is our most joyful time of celebration. We are, in fact, an Easter people! Reflecting on this reality, do our lives reflect the joy and hope that come from such belief?

Just as the early Christians were called to spread the good news of resurrection, we too, are called to be signs of faith, hope, and love in our world – a world desperately in need of these gifts. Our words and actions show how well we live the good news.

During this Easter season, consider characteristics such as joy, hope, compassion, love, faith, and peace that we all possess in some measure. Plan ways to share these characteristics with others individually and as a group. This could even become habit-forming and last well beyond the Easter season!

Each Sunday the proclamation of God's word invites us to respond by living the Good News in our daily lives. During the Easter season you may want to include a session relating to "The Road to Emmaus" in Luke's Gospel. The following resource includes a video session with proclamation of the Gospel, a reflection, and a personal faith story. Participants are then invited to reflect on the Gospel story, connecting it to their own faith stories. This shared reflection can help teens, immersed in the challenge of daily living, deepen and renew their understanding of spirituality.
