Triduum Reflection on Faith, Hope, and Love

On this day, Catholics worldwide come together as one. In the midst of our diversity, we acknowledge our sameness.

We are graced with an inherent belief that Jesus, the Christ, who dies and rises within three days is truly the Son of God, our Messiah.

Repeatedly, lifes experiences challenge this faith gift. Peter who was so close to you failed, briefly but miserably. Catechumens inspire us by the new life of faith they accept. Lord, keep our faith alive, always.

We know our own deaths are inevitable. All living things die. When a seed dies, it is reborn into a new living thing. Jesus dies and is reborn; the promise is kept.

Some deaths are so hard to comprehend. Your disciples must have been utterly stunned at yours. At such times hope becomes elusive. Help us to remain hopeful. Help us to give hope to others.

So much love is expressed during these holy days. Jesus shares his body and blood with his disciples; he gives his life to overcome the sins of all humanity.

Such great love! How can such generosity ever be repaid? Encourage our resolve to love the seemingly unlovable people that come into our lives. Help us to see you in them. Keep us loving.
