Faith Acceptance

During the Easter Vigil, we are all involved in the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA). New believers privilege us to witness their acceptance of faith.

What is it about Catholicism that has brought these catechumens and candidates to our faith community? Have we been the sort of models to inspire someone to want to know more about our faith? Is this an area that we might seek to improve during the Easter season?

On this special night, we are called to renew our own baptismal promises. This restatement of faith moves us to rethink our personal faith status. Perhaps we have been taking it for granted, especially if we are "cradle" Catholics.

What is it about Catholicism that keeps us in this faith community? Because of our involvement in pastoral leadership, it should be safe to say that we do not remain out of habit. If this were so, we would not be so actively involved, right?
