The angel said to the women at the tomb, "Do not be afraid! I know you are seeking Jesus the crucified. He is not here, for he has been raised just as he said."
Matthew 28:5-6
"The Gospel for Easter (Matthew 28:1-10), illustrates how we can often be amazed when we go about our everyday lives of caring for others. The women visit the tomb and are amazed by an angel who tells them that Jesus is raised from the dead and has gone before them to Galilee. The angel proclaimed the Good News. The women believed and went to tell others. Joy, belief, and mission! The New Testament was written in light of the Resurrection."
Joy Mary Magdalen and the other Mary were the first bearers of the Good News. They were the first witnesses to the Resurrection. We relive this joy each Easter.
Belief The Resurrection is at the center of our Christian belief. It confirms our faith in the power of Jesus over sin and gives us hope for eternal salvation.
Mission Jesus' mission was to reconnect God and humankind. Our mission is to make disciples of all those with whom we come into contact. Such evangelization can lead to conversion, and catechesis, which draws everyone closer to the risen Christ.
