October has traditionally been considered the month of the Rosary. October 7 is the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary. This prayer celebration focuses on the Mysteries of the Rosary. You may want to emphasize to participants that although the Rosary is an intercessory form of prayer wherein Mary intercedes on our behalf, we recall through these mysteries the story of our salvation in Jesus Christ. We pray with Mary and the whole Church that the work of salvation will continue.

Materials Needed		Prayer table with Bible and candle, flowers, rosaries, a picture or statue of Mary

Preparation		Discuss the Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary together (The Annunciation, the Visit of Mary to Elizabeth, the Birth of Jesus, the Presentation of Jesus in the Temple, the Finding of Jesus in the Temple). If possible, five participants should prepare a short reflection about each event to use during the prayer celebration. Select a leader and a Scripture reader. Print out or photocopy copies of the liturgy page for each participant.
Adaptation		If your group cannot pray the complete rosary at this time, you might choose to pray only one decade, or pray one Hail Mary for each decade.
