Lent is the liturgical season of preparation for Easter. During these forty days, God calls us to reflect upon our lives, looking at our failings and weaknesses. God calls us to change our hearts so that we may be a people filled with faith, hope, and love for all of our brothers and sisters. God offers us great mercy, which is ours for the asking.

"Loving One Another" Prayer Celebration Notes

Focus		Examining our conscience with Jesus’ commands
Materials Needed		Prayer table, Bible, candle, music, liturgy
Reading		Luke 6:17-31

Preparation		Before the prayer celebration, elicit from participants some of Jesus’ important teachings. Select a leader, reader to announce each Beatitude during the Examination of Conscience, and another participant to read the questions that follow. Print out and photocopy the liturgy.
Adaptation		Play meditative music, giving the young people time to reflect on the Beatitudes and related questions more deeply. In place of a period of silence after the examination, play another brief selection of meditative music.
