THE JOYFUL MYSTERIES

Reader 1 We begin in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. The First Joyful Mystery, the Annunciation: "Rejoice, O highly favored daughter! The Lord is with you."

Reader 2 Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.

All Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Reader 1 The Second Joyful Mystery, the Visitation: Elizabeth greets Mary, "Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb."

Reader 2 Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.

All Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Reader 1 The Third Joyful Mystery, the Nativity: Mary and Joseph find a place in Bethlehem and Jesus is born to Mary.

Reader 1 The Fourth Joyful Mystery, the Presentation of Jesus in the Temple: As is the custom, Mary and Joseph present their baby, Jesus, to the priests in the Temple.

Reader 2 Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.

Reader 1 The Fifth Joyful Mystery, the Finding of Jesus in the Temple: After three days of searching for him, Mary and Joseph find Jesus safe, in the Temple.

CLOSING PRAYER

Leader God of glory, we praise you for the kindness you have shown us by giving us Mary as the Mother of Jesus and also as our mother. Her example inspires our prayer and fills our hearts with love for you. We pray through Christ our Lord.
