Grade Level Activity & Answer Key Feasts & Seasons Grade Level Resources

October has traditionally been considered the month of the Rosary. October 7 is the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary. We honor Mary, the Mother of God, in various ways because we see in her a wonderful combination of faith, obedience, and love for God. She united the joy of a mother with the honor of a virgin. These prayer celebrations focus on Mary as a woman truly graced by God.

| Preparation |
Before your prayer celebration, drape a table for prayer with the green fabric and photocopy or print out enough liturgies so that each child has one. Explain to the children that a spiritual bouquet is a collection of prayers prayed for a spiritual intention. Ask them to think of someone who needs their prayers. Select a good reader for the Scripture reading and a good reader to read the petitions. Give these two children time to practice. You could be the leader.

| Adaptation |
Have children decide on one person for whom the entire group will pray. Have the children write on the flowers the prayers that they will say for this intention.
