Assign reading parts for the parable of the workers in the vineyard, Matthew 20:1-15. After participants have completed the story, ask what they thought of the landowner’s actions, and the workers’ reactions. Allow them to express their sense of justice and fairness. Note that sometimes our view of justice differs from God’s perspective. Encourage participants to suggest possible solutions to the conflict in the parable to help them become aware of the mercy and generosity that justice requires.
