Plan a liturgy together. It could be a Mass or a prayer celebration. Use a variety of prayer experiences. Involve everyone in some way – selecting music, writing prayer petitions, decorating the prayer space, selecting the readings, being lectors, servers. While it is most important for everyone to be an active planner, it is not necessary for everyone to have a special role during the liturgy. It is important for young people to realize that participation as community is valuable – listening, singing, responding – are active roles as well.
