In some countries, such as Cuba, Sudan, China, and North Korea, people's religious rights are violated and they are not free to practice their faith. The Christian virtue of solidarity helps us to see others as our neighbors, not our enemies. Solidarity calls us as Catholics to work for the equitable distribution of material goods, human rights, religious freedom, and world peace. 
 Have the children research the mission work being done in different parts of the world. Distribute mission magazines and your diocesan newspaper. Invite the children to share what they discover. Then have the children brainstorm ways that they can help those in need. For example, have a class collection and donate the money to a charity the children have chosen.
