Write the word MERCY on a chalkboard or chart. Explain that the word describes God’s great kindness and generosity of forgiveness and love. We are called to show mercy to others. Encourage children to offer examples of mercy in Bible stories, e.g., sending Jesus to us to make up for sin, the forgiving father, or Jesus healing people and forgiving their sins. Then, ask for examples of ways that we all can show mercy. Write their examples on the board or chart.
