Talk about things that take courage to do, e.g., tell the truth about something difficult, ask forgiveness when we have done something wrong, forgive someone who has wronged us, take medicine when we are sick, or go to bed when we want to watch TV. Share how the Holy Spirit gives us the courage to do difficult things. Encourage each child to suggest one thing it is hard for him or her to do. Then together, create a litany to the Holy Spirit. After each person offers his or her difficult situation, have the group respond: "Help us, Holy Spirit."
If time permits, you could show children how to create doves from small paper plates. You could then write the messages on their doves to help them remember what they are asking help to do.
